The power and beauty of sunlight has always mesmerised me – from the way that it transcends any moment into something oddly surreal and special, to the way it simply illuminates by casting harsh patches of sunlight, and in turn forming beautiful shadows. ‘The Strange Familiar Dark’ is a collection of photographs, each focused within spaces occupied by one household, that as a whole are indirectly symbolic of family, relationships and identity, illuminated by the capturing of a split second in time - a formation of a moment, isolated and concreted within a frame.
